CS3

Ok, unless your image is smaller than 8x10, this works in CS4.
Although I used a jpg straight of a 50D, so image was 23 m starting.
Open then go to image/image size, then make sure all 3 boxes are checked, in the bottom set of dimension boxes make sure you are set to inches, set width or hight to 8", other will adjust, before clicking ok set resolution to 300, click ok.
You might have to crop a little to get exactly to 8x10?
Hope this helps.

can anyone offer some advise, I just don't get it. I'm trying to get a photo from 3888x2592 240ppi and 300ppi to print at 8x10 without loosing any of the image, is it possible.

Here is some info. you may, or may not know, but I have found this article very helpful a time or two.

I have some family coming in for Thanksgiving and we want to take some photos somewhere different this year. I was thinking of papago park.... does anyone have some cool spots that area they could share of good spots for some portraits at papago? any samples?

any other thoughts on unique places for some outdoor portraits( the closer to chandler, the better).

any input is very much appreciated.

Thanks

Doug, great shots. girl in first in hot. what show was that?

Hey Mike, how are you adjusting living back in az again? did you go out to sema?

man I wish I can go. helping a friend photograph a wedding that day.

Ryan, I was in Vegas for a week for SEMA, fly out to socal in 8 hours, then return for the NASCAR race this weekend. Life is busy but things are good. I miss Socal dearly but I am here to finish school this coming semester at ASU and then I am moving back to Orange County. I need to be by the ocean, I've lived in this desert too damned long.

Love the people here but I'm just really, really tired of the desert.

What about the Farm at South Mountain...? Or the Tempe Arts Center..? Is that the name of it...? Colorful walls....? Ask Hatch, he knows the place..

Hatch, Steve and I did a shoot @Papago last year.. pretty fun.. . Here's a sample from inside the hole in the rock looking out....

Thanks for posting that, Kristy! I also have company coming in from England for the week of Thanksgiving. He's going to be pretty jet-lagged on his first day so I was looking for something relatively close by to visit. Looks like Papago Park might be just the ticket!

good to see you're raising your kids right (a reference to the jersey :)

how much room did you have in the hole? from the ground it doesn't look like there is a lot of room.

I've invited a few friends interested in photography from a local motorcycle forum as well, so we should have maybe 8 if everyone shows.

I had said 7:00, but Saturday is a practice day and the riders usually start out slow the first few sessions. So, let's shoot for 8:00.

Awesome.!! Just got back from Utah and got permission from the boss. Very excited to be able to go. Thanks..!!

@ Dean: What do you reccomend for glass?

I'm thinking MkIII + 300 (+ 1.4X ?) + Monopod and probably 5D + 70-200 / 24-70 (+ 580EXII) if we'll be near the pits...

Sounds good, Jay. Doubt you'll need the TC, but might as well bring it since it's pretty small. On this track we can get close enough to the action that you don't need a really long lens. I use my 70-300 on my D300 (1.5 crop) for all of the track stuff. Fast glass not really required, naturally. f4 is about as fast as I can shoot and get a reasonable percentage of keepers.

Another fun place to work on your panning skills and just get some fun shots - there's a little quarter midget track in South Mountain Park. I like to ride my motorcycle up there from time to time and saw the the little guys racing one time while I had my camera with me. Don't think I have posted these, though I did take them some time ago.

I hear ya!! Loud and clear... I miss being home often.. the ocean factor always calls me when I go back to visit... *sigh* Actually I'm going to sneak away on Thanksgiving weekend while we are home.. and go to Laguna Beach to see if I can shoot the sunset, and that old tower on the sand.... for some weird reason I'm really excited to just go out and shoot something all by myself.. just for me... weird....?

glad to help guys.. not the best images, but hopefully gives you an idea of the options...

There is a ton of room inside that hole.. you'll be suprised once you get in.. just a little slippery on some areas... so be careful and wear tennis shoes... ;)

Oh and the jersery... that it totally her Daddy's influence... die hard, through and through Steeler guy.. it happens when your family lives in the Burgh I guess... I don't pay much attention to it.. lol...

WOW!!! Can I just play with your camera? The focusing system on those Nikon Cameras is just enough to keep me wondering... lo...

Happy Friday all! Looking forward to the shots from your outing... too bad it's not a "chick" thing... cars and motion just don't pull at my heart strings... ;)

For those coming to Firebird, bring cash! You need $10 for gate fee, plus anything from the Roach Coach. Sorry I didn't think of this sooner.

Thanks Hatch and Kristy. :D
