It's one heavy SOB but it balances really well and the mass actually makes panning pretty smooth. You just have to start sooner and follow through because once it starts swinging, it doesn't want to stop!

Nice Jay! (Calico turns St. Patty's-green with envy) Maybe it could double as a ball bat or a golf club with such a nice swing to it lol!

Now, Now Kristy...

It's not the size of the lens that matters. It's what you shoot with it... ;)

Any prior suggestions of male estrogen poisoning here due to flowery pics are clearly false.

Maybe, but we all know that the size definitely helps to achieve a greater level of satisfaction....? photographicaly speaking that is.. (yikes... did I just say that... *running away*)

Hey Jay, I have some questions on shooting in Tucson tomorrow you may be able to help with.

I'll have my 30D and 7D with me.

I'll also have my 400mm F/5.6L and my 70-200 F/2.8L IS.

I could also bring a lower-end 100-300 I have.

Will my 70-200 have enough reach on either of my cameras? (1.6 crop)

I figured I would check out a couple spots while down there, trying to get as close as safely/properly/legally possible.

S.C.
