Ummm... seems to be picking up. I have a couple prospects that could happen. A musician shoot and a regular shoot. So we'll see what happens with those.

Have you retired from the Air Force yet? Or is that still a couple months away?

Good deal on the shoots... I have about 2 weeks to go before I am paroled. :) Looking forward to the adventure....should be interesting.

I am starting to make a dent in the loads of vacation photos to edit. Here is one pic I really liked (taken with the nifty fifty up on the rim at sunrise):

Haha, AZAlphaDog! Ordered two of those yesterday.

Available drive space disappears fast when playing with a new camera, and soon, models! Shooting, not playing with. Erm, photographing. Sigh. You know.

Is there an Evite, Meetup, or other 3rd party interactive website used for "AZ POTN get togethers"?

I'm with you on this one! 18MP RAW files start to take up a lot of space! My 6TB fileserver is filling up slowly. But I could probably get rid of some of the digital trash in there. Damn virtual housecleaning!!

Just a heads up if anyone is looking for something a little different on Saturday the 26th...

At the intersection of 180 and 64 north of Flagstaff is the town (more or less) of Valle, AZ (Va-yay) and a very nice little airport which will be holding a Warbird event.

I'm told they fly very fast, very low and very close! Some examples of what you might see are HERE (external link)

Now, I'm also told that the amount of flying is directly proportional to the number of paying passengers. No Passengers = Possibly little or no flying.

If they fly, they'll start at around 8am with the light being good until about 1pm so it doesn't have to be an all day thing. It does mean wheels up to get there at the crack of dark though.

Official Web Link: HERE (external link)

Just tossing this out since some folks have expressed an interest in shooting aircraft and this is an event with the potential to land some really great close ups! Confirmed participants are at least one P-51 and a P-38 from the Chino PoF facility. The Tri-Motor is based at Valle so it should fly as well if folks want to go for rides.

Any way you slice it, it's about a three hour drive with the suggested route being I-17 to I-40 West to Williams and straight up AZ-64.
