Like the 1st shot Steve.. second one is cool but the floor needs a little TLC. Looks like a fun session. How do you like the new 100mm macro?

Loving the 100mm macro (it's fast and sharp) and the IS really helps.

Too late in the evening to do a lot of editing to clean up the floor.
The other photographers were walking around and not paying enough attention to stay off the white floor. Also, they had the lights set-up (1 main and 2 for the background) maybe if I used the lights it would have cleaned up the floor.

I'm not sure if I like these, struggled with triggering OCF and focus issues, but practice is practice so I tried to move forward . . .

Nice captures Jay and Doug.

Really like the eye contact/connection in #3 Doug. What were you using to light the scene? Nice work!

Thanks Frank,

I used a 580EX II with a shoot-thru umbrella.

Jay, great shot of the planes. Is the one on the right a P15 Mustang? Love that plane.

Doug, nice shots. I like #1 because of the crop and better separation between her hair and the backround.

I just got some OCF equipment this week. Cybersyncs, light stand and shoot-thru umbrella. I am anxious to get some practice in myself!

Amazing plane photos Jay!

I went down to Tempe Town Lake a couple days ago. Not nearly as good as some that have been posted but whatever :) Last day with L glass so I tried to make the most of it.

Went to the Superstition Photo Studio Meetup in Apache Junction. This is a start-up studio, with ample space (they had approx 4 or 5 shooting areas) with one cyc wall.

Here are two images from the meetup, I was shooting hand held and without flash. so it's ISO 1000 at f4, shutter speed was 1/40th of a second. Lighting was the overhead florescent lights and modeling lights from the dyna-lites.

Good make-up, nice posing, and congrats on getting such good shots with overhead florescent lights!

I have Canon gear. SX1 IS, two 7D bodies and mostly f/2.8 lenses 10mm-200mm, doubler, and 17/4 TSE, some 580EX IIs. Additional portable lighting gear, and tripod with 360 pano mount. Want two 7D II bodies.

Nice shots Steve. What meetup group was this with?
