Can someone please email this moron on craigslist and flag his post!

So i've seen this guy throw this add up for the second time now. He's trying to sell some POS lens for an out of this world price.

http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/pho/1818168054.html (external link)

Check out the listing. He said he paid $1,300 for this lens and is letting it go at $800. To me this sounds like a white van tactic because this lens sells for about $20-$30 on ebay i have found. So I emailed the guy the first time and never heard back from him. I see he has it up for sale again so I send him another email asking him why he's trying to rip people off and he actually replied back with a nasty email to me saying go F myself. I would have for someone to buy this lens for $800. Most people know what they want and what their looking for, but with DSLR's so cheap now days, lots of new consumers are in the market for lenses with no expertise and some people just have way to much money laying to spend.

So click the link, ask him why he's trying to rip people off or say whatever you want to say and then flag the listing so CL admins can take it down for "white van approach" product sales. Just like the guy trying to sell the $7,000 sale in the Best Buy parking lot for only $100 and it comes in one giant box and weighs about 23lb's.

What he also fails to mention is that you end up with a 600mm f/13 lens...

Testing the Canon 85mm F/1.8 (Yes Jay... bought another one) LOL

I think this one is now dialed in... slight front focus before the adjustment.

Forgot how sharp this lens was/is. Depending on how well the Sigma 85mm performs... might pick one up... but... for now... this little beast is producing some nice shots.

At times like these is when you wish you were 7ft tall, then nobody is in your way.

Being the huge goon that I am really helps when I'm taking pics in a crowd.

LOL Well.. it took a couple of years...

Car shots were with the new 200F/2.8 :) But... glad they are both dialed in now.

Now... to sell the 24-70 to fund a 35L purchase... what to do...what to do. :)

Nope :) Sold the 70-200L IS I had... picked up the 200LF/2.8. I didn't win the lottery...so no 200L F/2.0 for me.

Really happy with the new 200... not as heavy...super sharp...bokeh looks great... very fast to focus. Very close to the 135L in performace...

How do you "dial in" a lens? I've never heard of this before.

"Dialed In" = Making adjustments to null out any front or back focus issues.

A feature available on the MkIII, MkIV, 5DMkII, 7D and probably the newest Rebels as well.

Well... I will first start by saying there are numerous methods all over the net... and I tried most of them...LOL.

With the 5D2...1D series cameras... 50D I think...7D...you can micro adjust your camera to better align with your lenses. I've only had one lens not need some sort of adjustment... front focusing or backfocusing.

Kristy and I went in on the Lens Align Pro http://www.lensalign.com/products.html (external link) it isn't cheap... cost maybe $15 to make the thing... but... to me... this has been the most consistant way to adjust the focus on my lenses. The new 200L was front focusing as well as the 85mm. The new Sigma 50mm was really front focusing.

Here is a good thread to learn more about the process....

Now I know when I miss a shot... it wasn't the cameras fault... before the purchase... I couldn't say that.

Don't think so...

Any such issues with an XS would have to be addressed by Canon.
