Went to the San Diego Zoo today. Orangutans are so much fun to watch.

Although the Pygmy Chimp, or Bonobo (one of those two) is the closest genetically to humans, ~98% identical, Orangutans to me seem the most people like.

I don't know if anyone outside San Diego remembers one of the most famous SD Zoo residents, an Orangutan named Ken Allen (he died several years ago). When was a baby, he went and took out every light bulb in the zoo nursury and got the nickname 'Hairy' Houdini as he grew up because he was able to unscrew the pannels to his enclusure and just walk out. When he would escape, the keepers would find him walking around the zoo holding hands with a visitor, or just goofing around entertaining the people. He was on the local news all the time, and appeared with Joan Embry on the Tonight Show. He really seemed to think he was a human, not just act like it.
