is $300 for a new XT a good price?

man i'm a member of fatwallet.com - a deals forum. there is a thread about a brand new Rebel XT at walmart for $300 + tax without lens kit and everybody is going crazy for it.

i told them it is not a good deal as you can get a like new or even new XTi with lens kit off eBay for 300-350, and that i got a like new 20D + lens and Nikon D40 + lens for $250 each. you know what? all i get is RED (means disagree)
i stated that the XT is way too old, LCD is too damn small and doesn't have the up-to-date functions like most of the cheap cameras out there

so am i wrong?

Think its a good deal. I see XTi's at ebay getting better prices, and the XT is a good camera.

No, you are not wrong. I've seen used XT's with the kit lens for $200.
