Hi all,

Just looking for a bit of advice really. How do you make your logos? Any specific programs? You get someone else to do it?

Need to do one for myself, just wondering how the pros do it

Photoshop. Any graphics program will work. The higher end programs give you many more options though.

Bodies, Lenses, Lights, Stands, Transmitters, Receivers, Tripods, Meters, etc...

Photoshop, Illustrator, are the real tools. If you need artistic help than there is LogoMaker but your logo is going to look generic.

you could always ask someone kindly to make one for you if you have an idea you like (i expect some will want payment) but im sure a few people would just do it for you as long as you kindly say "logo designed by ______"

what sorta logo did you have in mind?

Oh...Hello :)

Either make it really large, or as a vector file so you won't have to try to recreate it in a larger size later.

I use Illustrator for things like that.

I use Fireworks for all my web based graphics including logos. One method you can use is to sketch out your logo using the old way, pencil and paper. Scan the graphic and clean it up and add colors with a your favorite graphic program.

I use CorelDraw. Design the logo or artwork as vector art then export into Photoshop.

It's best to hire a professional graphic designer to create your logo. SO MANY things should be considered before defining/designing your logo.

I would avoid rushing into an amateur design as your logo will be the first thing your clients see.

It should be timeless and truly reflect your business.

I am a professional graphic designer and would be happy to help you decide/define how to best represent yourself/your business with a logo/identity design.

I CRINGE when reading most of these posts!

Please PM me to discuss further.

i'm a designer as well... don't do it on your own. There are rules to be followed. Design rules, file format rules. If you're on a budget and going on your own regardless of this advice, at least begin with 1 color (CMYK black) and illustrator-EPS it. Keep it simple.
