The problem if i want to show what i can do with with Hasselblad and squeeze most of it, really it is an amazing and i really can save many details by its RAW files, better than Canon or Nikon RAWs, but it takes long time.

Happy day after Memorial Day weekend -- who has some great RAW Conversion results from the weekend to share?

Heh! Don't feel so bad, I had company and barely made it out of the house at all -- only for quick errands and no camera.

Okay - I love this thread! I look forward to playing with all of you talented folks :)

What is the easiest/best way to capture the screenshots of the changes I made? (I know, but I am a newbie! Okay sort of... at least it's an excuse!)

Thanks for any advice!

Hit print screen on the keyboard then open Photoshop or other image editing program and open a new document and paste. You can then crop to just that part that you want to show and there you go!

Welcome aboard!

There are different formats people follow. At first, I just did an Alt-PrtScn of the editor window with as many adjustments as I could get, opened a New image in Photoshop, and pasted the clipboard into the new image, saved it as a pretty compressed jpeg, loaded that into a PBase gallery that I use for this project, then linked it to here as a regular image but not the largest size. I did this fore each batch of relevant settings, which meant two or sometimes three windows brought in.

Then, I decided that it was boring and taking up too much space to keep posting the whole window with image and settings, so I changed things.

Here's what I do now. First, have your image editor at a window size that shows a block of settings you want to capture. Do the Alt-PrtScn, then paste that into a New editor window. Do it again for the blocks of settings you need to show, until you are done and you have 2 or three open images in the editor.

Then, open a New blank image in the editor and size it to a reasonable display size -- I use about 800x800 pixels. Then, one at a time, just use the rectangular selection tool to select the settings part of each screen shot, Ctl-C to copy, click on the new window and Ctl-V to paste, then select your Move tool and position the cropped thing into place, repeat for each screen shot, and when done do a Save As, select jpeg, give it a name, and save as a medium quality jpeg. Then I do the same PBase link, but only for one image.

Here is one of the tools that I love to use in action. It is the TAT (Target Adjustment Tool) in LR. For my team and individual shots done late evening I often get a yellow cast on the grass. This tool allows me to click and drag to get it back to green.

These settings show what is done after my import settings are applied. My Import settings in this case are some added clarity and vibrance as well as a profile for my MKII.

Mike, that's very cool! I've never messed much with the Hue controls, but this is a good example of how it can really work wonders! Thanks so much!

I thought about Mike's post last night and this morning I just wanted to add a comment.

This is a great example of how the idea of shooting and processing in Raw is not just about "fixing mistakes". If you look at the shot, you will see that the exposure is right on, but we know that some lighting can bring about color casts or effects that can't always be foreseen, and end up emphacising things like yellow in the grass, while the rest of the scene is fine.

It's great that Raw converters over the past couple of years have developed the capability to do things that at one time we needed to resort to Photoshop to accomplish! More and more, we are able to massage the original image into the likeness of our vision!!

Man that shot looks flat! It doesn't look like that in LR. I wonder if I saved it correctly after getting the screen capture. It might just be compression (it was saved at like 45/100 in Image Ready).

The screenshot is an untagged RGB image.
On windows XP, a screenshot isn't color managed. You should open it in PS, *assign* (yes) the monitor profile, then convert to sRGB, save with embedded profile and then post on the web. Should look identical then in a color managed browser ;)
