kirkt Cream of the Crop More info | May 21, 2012 23:58 | #4819 Not a super duper fantastic conversion, but I thought I'd post this because of two really incredible tools that make for learning an awful lot about your raw data. Raw histogram - this image was purposely underexposed - plenty of headroom left, even in the green channel. Final image: Kirk

kirkt Cream of the Crop More info | May 22, 2012 00:13 | #4820 Here is a conversion of the same scene, but shot at +2 compared to the above exposure, and converted using ACR 7's whacktastic highlight recovery. It is pretty impressive, although the cyan in the overexposed areas of the sky is a little off-putting. Still, it can save an image, even with 2 clipped raw channels. Raw histogram: Kirk

May 22, 2012 07:42 | #4822 Kirk, it looks like ACR did a great job of "taming" that sky with the +2 exposure, and the greens don't look crazy -- thanks for posting that! Tony

May 23, 2012 18:37 | #4823 The composition and image are nothing spectacular, but considering I almost fell off a 10ft soft dirt ledge while trying to get in position quickly, it's actually quite acceptable for me.
