Nice work on both!

The LCD is a dirty liar. I'm working on convincing my wife of this - she's doing real estate, so she has to go indoors and outdoors a lot, and is often fooled by the LCD when ambient changes significantly.

Good result Kenny. will be there next week, know the place well.
Will be having a meal at "Freddys" (Bar De La Plage) and staying with friends in La Haye du Puits.
Lots of photo opportunities in the Portbail area.
Love the place!

Martin.

Great work! Amazing to see how much you recovered on the bird...

So exciting to see this thread come back alive again. I have learned so much from it!

Yes...and I did also when it first started thats why I thought good Idea to get it resurrected again for all the new RAW coverts out there. Especially as more and more of them are converting from JPG to RAW as their editing skills get better and they realise there is more to life than JPG :)

Cheers

Here are a couple of before and afters processed in DXO Photolab Elite. I've added the corrections as requested. Note the second image has far more contrast and sharpening than I would normally add, in part as compensation of the limits of the Tamron 18-400 lens and in part because of the effect I was looking for in this seaside image. I would normally assume the haloing on the edge of the rock in the area when it meets the Bay of Fundy would be a direct result of over sharpening. However, while it did accentuate it, it did not cause it. When I look at the original unprocessed image at higher magnification I can plainly see the haloing although it is much fainter.

Nice work, thanks for posting. However the purpose of the thread is to show/detail the adjustments you made - either by describing what you did or posting screen grabs of the sliders/settings. Thanks.

I did not realize that since I noticed that some others have also just posted images. I can post the settings but that may not be very useful to most folks here since I have been using DXO PhotoLab Elite for the last year rather than LR or PS.
