despite some blown highlights I think you caught all these (mostly) happy faces very well despite the rain. 2 and 4 are for me, the expressions are great. they obviously noticed you taking pictures, no angry parents rushed you and swept their children away im hoping?

Two is my fave, but I also really like one. What was the event? The crowning of Miss Southern Wisconsin?

Use a fill flash next time. The last 3 photos have very dark or black eye sockets. Fill flash can illuminate your subjects eyes giving great life to the photo.

Thanks guys. I had a grocery store plastic bag around the camera body protecting it from the rain. Kind of a pain.

The event was the March for Babies (March of Dimes) Annual run/walk event. I was only able to get about 7 team photos, because the organization of the event was a bit disorderly, but the rain really put a damper on it all. I did what I could with it.

It's never a bad thing if you get some keepers or at least learn from the experience... You seem to have a few keepers, so it's all good!
