Interesting makeup design.

I like the lighting overall, but how about adding some "pop" to the eyes, lips, and the makeup colors?

Anyone that can give me some advice on how to make it pop?

Interesting make-up, but I'm not sure of the point of it... It appears to be making her skin a little more reptilian... Am I just too dense to see the reason?

I agree with this.

If your looking for some help there, there are all kinds of actions that will run in photoshop to "pop" your pictures!

For starters, in PS CS3/4, you can select the makeup areas and the colored portions in her eyes carefully and separately, increase the vibrance (image > vibrance), or if you don't have that, then just play with the saturation.

I would also suggest adding more depth to the bony areas of her face w/ dodge & burn tools. Then, if you need more of a "pop" whiten up the whites in her eyes, and increase the contrast just a little. You can also add some artificial catch lights if you'd like.

I'd also "heal" or lighten the area between her chin and underneath her lower lip in pic #2.

For the lips, use basic tools: vibrance/saturation, levels, healing, dodge, burn, masks, brightness/contrast. Remember, that you will need a lot of layers so that you can always delete them if you make a mistake.

For future references, I'd suggest asking the makeup artist to explain to you basic concepts about contouring, or you can read Kevyn Aucoin's book. I love contouring, especially with makeup (since I am a woman who loves makeup haha), because so little can make such a difference in how the face is presented in different lighting.

Don't forget to post up revised versions of these photos! ;)

P.S. Your work on your website is beautiful, I don't know why you're asking for tips :P

The idéa was to get the reptilian or fishscale look, but there wasnt any deeper reason for it then that, maybe next time i will add a snake or something to get some more life into the pictures.

I like to do things manually to get full control of what im doing, so I dont use actions much.

Thanks for the tips! I ask because I want to get better using photoshop.
