There's a hot spot on her left cheek. And isn't a lot of lighting gear designed to work best at 1/60 not 1/100? I don't have experience with off camera flash.

Also the lighting seems to be everywhere which isn't always most desirable. Maybe similar to the lighting in this post and note the comment about flat lighting:

Yours seems to be a well diffused bounce flash which throws light everywhere. Directional lighting can have a different more attractive appearance.

Thanks xoldboy, I'm certainly not a pro just trying to get better.

Thanks Happysnapper, I have'nt heard that about the shutter speed before but i will certainly look into that. I also thought the light was a little hot in some areas, I may have another go tonight if she's up to it.

You might want to try shooting through the umbrella for softer light. Moving the light source closer might be worth a try for you as well.

^^
I'd try maybe bouncing the flash into an umbrella first or shooting through a softbox, it will defuse it a bit more evenly.

I think it looks fairly good though

also pull her away from the back ground another foot or so she she "pops" a little more

+1 on the hot spots too under expose her by a stop or too and use the flash as a fill in for a nice effect

Thanks Stickman, i have'nt tried shooting through the umbrella yet maybe next time. I'm confused wouldn't moving the light source closer make it brighter?
