I've heard some people saying they've used standard mechanical adaptors to put M42 mount lenses on their G-series. How does that work? Any experiences? Seems like an easy way to get great optics on the cheap...

So I don't know what you would be accomplishing. You might be able to reverse an old prime lens for macro purposes, but not for gaining optical quality or functionality in regular shooting. Taylor
