I have found two 1d Mark II in the local market as i am planning to replace my 20D with 1D Mark II.

One of the camera has been used quite much, the body shows the wear with paint off at many corners. But the camera is still going strong; the person is ready to sell it off for around 750 USD without the charger and other accessories, adding the charger it cost around 900 USD. No news regarding how much the camera has been used and how much count is on the shutter as yet.

The other one is practically brand new, is been with the shopkeeper for last 2 years when finally Mark III came up and has not got sold as yet. He is demanding around 1400 USD for that with all the accessories still intact.

What do you suggest should be the best deal to go for.

2nd option. It's a no-brainer.

Go with #2. If you can get one of the jpg's from either camera with the EXIF intact, CS3 can read the shutter count, or any number of other free bits of software can see the shutter count.

Personally I'd go with neither. 1400 is too much and the other one is too beat and missing items. You can find Mark II's on the used forum here that come intact for around 1100. Heck I'll seel ya mine for 1100 and it comes with a charger.
If those were my only two choices, I'd go for the second one but I wouldn't like it.

+1 for this suggestion, but you could possibly get a 1DMKIIN for that money and it does have some operational advantages.
Don't buy a body without it's charger. Damn expensive item, even if you can find one.

And again!!
$1400 is $200 to $300 more than they are selling for all the time on this site and fredmiranda.com.

I would offer 800 on the high mileage one if he includes ALL accessories and you check it out that it all works fine. Dont take anyones word for it unless you have a money back guarantee that it all works. Inspect the shutter closely.

900 for a busted camera. No thanks.
True the 1D mk2 goes cheap on these forums but they are still 1699 and better in good condition at B&H and KEH
The 1D mk2 was a great upgrade from the 50 and 40D that I had. You should be very pleased. Good luck with the deal.

B&H, KEH, Adorama, etc. are all inflated used prices in my opinion. Still though, the price is too high.

+1 for what Mr. Clean is saying. I would stay away from both.
There's a guy named Me. Clean :) selling one for 1100. it looks to be clean. Note, I do not know who he is and have never talked to him but what the heck? offer him 1k. that would be a kick ass deal for a clean camera!

They had one yesterday for only $1499 and there is still one now for $1599 (external link). And that's not bad when you consider they had to buy it from someone and then clean it up, check it out, probably throw in replacement cables, manuals and maybe a battery, add a 30 day warranty, and then make a profit.
