sedated buck

In Oct. 2006 the Wildlife folk sedated this buck in our back yard. He was obviously not well. They made all sorts of checks, including a blood draw. It was a few hours before he was on his feet again. I suspect he may not have made it, as there have been several cases of wasting disease in this herd.

I'd feel bad, too, if I had a collar like that put on me. It looks all white and ruffly, like something you'd get at a bridal botique. The Colorado Wildlife Department definitely needs some more manly looking collars. What's wrong with rawhide?
