I'm going backpacking for 18 days and need to fit everything in my carry on! Leaving this Friday! Please help!
I'm planning on bringing my 7d, canon 28-135mm kit lens, sigma 10-20mm, and canon 50mm 1.8f along with 430II EX and would like to fit this all in the CU... I also have a Velbon ultra luxi L travel tripod thats about 15in long just under 3 lb.
Tripod has a small carry case that I could carry on as personal item. I can strap it on the side using the water bottle holder and bungee to a strap on side for walking about. I was thinking I could maybe pack my camera gear in the CU in my carry on backpack with my minimal clothes around it as extra padding (no checked bags remember). We do not want to check any bags and my goal is to be able to travel with just one bag etc... My neck/shoulders get sore too so I was thinking the CU would be great and not be too bulky if I did have my backpack on back and the cu in front when needing to walk about in-between city's or needing to carry all our stuff with us for a day if needing to check out and still manage to take pictures and not over burden myself and enjoy my first trip to Europe. I got the eBags Mother Lode TLS Weekender Convertible for my main backpack before getting all my gear for my 7D. We are on a budget and the cu is already more then what we want to spend.
I tried the lowepro Inverse 200 AW but it was too bulky feeling, sagged and the strap to add stability across the body was too long even when shortened all the way... I'm about 5'6, 122 lb. if the strap was about 3 in. shorter it may have helped... but there's a lot of weight in that waist pack ant it pulls away from the body and the waist buckle unsnapped when testing it out. Not a good sign. I have not tried the CU yet but think the camera store here has it.
SO What would you suggest??? Please help I'm leaving in 4days! Yikes! and Yea! Thanks so much in advance!
