I like my 40D's snappy clack sound but im now warming to the 5DII's satisfying cerchunk sound.

I swear when I first started shooting with it I was experiencing camera recoil

I've always liked my 400D's shutter sound. I used a Nikon D90 once and didn't like it at all. I've used a 30D and found it alright. Hopefully the 1D classic sounds good because I'll be shooting with it a lot from when I get it tomorrow ;)

Ixus... you can turn it off even. Awesome!

I actually like the 5D sound. But my friend prefers the 40D.

Subjective.

Really don't like the 400D. To me it sounds like a sound engineer has "created" a "shutter-like" sound.

Just my opinion. :)

I like the clack of the 5D, but the 1D machine gun sound is just awesome.

Canons and Nikons have their own distinct sounds. Canon is a sharp, "typical" SLR sound, whereas Nikons are more of a clatter :P

So - which camera (or even just which brand) sounds better to you?

My fave so far is the 400d / 1Ds II. I didn't really like the sound of my 10d.

I have Both and I wish my Canon sounds like Nikon :).

Cheers,
WW
