Amazon raising prices in anticipation of Canon rebates?

I've been keeping a small shopping list at Amazon in anticipation of Canon's spring rebates. It seems that Amazon may be anticipating them as well, as the price of a few things started to creep up in the last couple of days.

For example, the 580EXII flash, priced at $409.99 for a long time, is now $426.99

I noticed this with the fall rebates as well. Amazon ended up with about 20% to 40% of the rebates that I thought I should get...:rolleyes:

Adorama has a refurbed 580II for $350.

in the mean time, the 70-200mm 2.8L has gone from $1699 down to $1669......

I want the 70-200 2.8 is in my gold box during the rebates and it is a done deal! haha I hope it happens
