just out of curiosity, i see many posts in the buy/sell forum, and if the lens has already been bought, many times the price is changed to just "sold"...i feel like knowing the current selling price of a lens is a good thing to know sometimes...is there a rule that says we need to black it out so nobody knows how much it sold for?...if there is a rule, why?

I agree. I like to see what prices equipment is going for to give me an estimate of what I have is worth. I think it is beneficial for tracking market fluctuations over the years too.
