I'm looking to purchase a Canon dSLR (450D probably, 500D maybe) plus lenses but before I do does anyone know / suspect if Canon will be offering any rebates or cash-back offers in the UK shortly? I note that our US friends are expecting rebates from 3rd May until July (I think). Anything similar suspected for the UK?
Also, anyone have any experience of the following web-vendors please? I've not used them before but their prices seem quite competitive:

If you Google simplyelectronics you'll find a big long list of horror stories about them. Yes, some people do get their stuff from them, but it's a total gamble as to whether you will or not. Personally I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
Tradecamerasonline have no phone number to contact them. I know some people would say this doesn't necessarily mean they're a bad lot, but it rings alarm bells with me. Again, Google them and you'll find stories of grey imports, etc.
If I was you, I'd avoid both of these and buy from a reputable dealer. Yes you might end up paying a bit more, but I would say that it would be worth it, as you'll get what you paid for and if there are issues afterwards, you can get them sorted out. Your choice though....you might choose one of these two and get lucky!
