Brand new system and I'm in trouble already. Can anyone be of help with an ATI error message? I've looked at all the references on the net and I don't see any actual solutions. Yes, I tried the ATI site forums. I e-mailed Dell with no response yet.

Card is a 1 Gig ATI 4870 in a new Dell i7 435T Vista 64 bit system. On bootup I get the error: "Could not load file or assembly 'MOM' Implementation Version XXXXX or one of its dependencies. Culture= blah blah Token= blah blah."

When I attempt to load the Catalyst Control Center I get an error "Could not load file or assembly 'CL.Implementation blah, blah.

One response I found indicated that NET Framework 2.0 was required for Catalyst Control Center but that it is not compatible with Vista 64 bit. ???

Interesting that there is zero ATI documentation from Dell with the machine, no PDFs, nothing.

Anyone had experience with this? Thanks guys.

Did it do this from day one? Or have you loaded something recently?

I don't have a solution for you, but I am running Vista 64 and I do have Catalyst Control Center installed. The "About" window shows NET Framework 2.0xxxxx

Interesting. I did a system search for "NET Framework" and came up with nothing.

Thanks MaxxuM. This shows: 64-bit support: 64-bit CPU support requires the latest 64-bit version of either Windows XP Professional \Windows Server 2003. Can assume that this will be compatible with Vista?

Also, are you addressing a cure for my problem or only for the comment about Framework 2.0 not be Vista 64 bit compatible? Thanks for your help.

Sorry, I think that was the wrong link. Here it is again LINK (external link). If I remember correctly this distro will add .NET 2.0 functionality. Look toward the middle-bottom for the x64 download distro. It's been a while since I've had to deal with dx and .NET issues.

I guess it must be another problem. I attempted to install Framework 2.0 and got a message that it was already installed as part of my operating system.

Take a look at your directx install - version - updates. .NET errors sometimes are due to dx issues.

I found a Catalyst Control Center FAQ on the AMD site which indicates that it requires NET version 1.1. I obviously know zip about this stuff, but it didn't say 1.1 or later, so would 2.0 supersede 1.1, or could that be the problem? Should I add 1.1? Thanks.

Whichever .NET the software was used to program the drivers/software is the same that would have to be used. They are not usually upwards compatible. Thus the reason we usually have 1.1(SP1), 2 and 3 installed simultaneously. I'm surprised you didn't already have them installed.

I probably do have them installed. Dell still hasn't responded and I don't find a solution on the net, so I'm just grasping at straws. Like I said, I know zip about this.

Try a dxdiag (Run "dxdiag" shift-enter) and it will check your directx install. The DirectX9c install is HERE (external link)just in case.

Same here.

That sucks! Dell should have caught that! I would be on the phone with them trying to figure out what the problem is rather than via email. It could take several responses (which as you can see are going to take some time) before you get anywhere. Or try the Live Chat thing.
