Hi. Just got my 50D with the 17-85,(about a week now) Haven't been out with it yet,still playing with it,anyhow been looking for UV filter,seen two that takes my fancy,Hoya Pro1 Digital Protector & SHMC Pro1-D UV.But would like some input,as to what one is best to invest in. In terms of light transmission...
SHMC = 99.7%
HD = 99.35%
Digital, HMC, or Pro Digital = 97%
blue box multicoated = avoid
green box single coated = avoid
