Since the wife (soon to be ex-wife) took our HP all-in-one with her when she moved out I finally had to break down and get a new printer. Of course, being a gadget freak, I couldn't settle for just any old USB printer. If I had to get something new, I wanted new tech to go with it....AKA wireless :D

So on the way home yesterday I stopped at Best Buy and picked up a Canon (I have become a canon snob now...lol) Pixma MP260!

First let me say that I have never seen so many little pieces of orange tape on a new printer before...lol. Finding a home for this thing wasn't easy. I ended up clearing off the top of my microwave for this beast as there really wasn't anywhere else that it would fit that my 2 year old couldn't play with it.

While the getting started instructions were a little confusing, actual set up was an absolute breeze. With the computer connected via USB I was easily able to get the printer working with the security on my router. I didn't get a chance to try out any photos yet, but printing a test page from my couch was extremely quick and easy :D

So far, easy set up, fast document printing. Tonight I will probably try some pictures and see how that looks (although I will usually have most of mine printed at a photo lab since my mother is the manager at one :D ).

I used to have a mp830. I recently sold it and got a mx850 just for the ethernet port. I couldn't stand that my computer had to be on all the time in order for the 2 laptops in the house to print. Now this new one is connected to my router and everyone can print while my computer is off or on.

Canon 40D w/ kit lens 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6. No Flash, No lights, No other lenses. Just starting out.
