To all who are interested ...

About an hour ago, 'white smoke' from the Sistine Chapel showed what everybody in Rome was looking for... a new pope has been elected.

This is the elected, the German cardinal Ratzinger - now pope Benedict XVI:

I included the photo so it's not a 'religious' thread

Best regards,

some cameras, some lenses,
and still a lot of things to learn...
(so post processing examples on my images are welcome :D)

An interesting, quick result.

Now at the risk of stepping into the other verboten area (politics) 'W' can begin talking about private Social Security accounts again, since the USA is no longer 'distracted' by the proceedings in Rome.

Have Fun,

Rick

Joseph "Torquemada" Ratzinger will be a transition Pope, IMHO...Don't get me wrong, I am Catholic (living here, what else) and happy that we have a Pope again. Im just a little afraid about JR positions. But if he starts a reverse jihad, I'll be with him anyway.

Wow that was fast. I check my news site just a couple hours ago and the last news they had was black smoke. Wow...really fast, I expected it to take longer.

Folks, we all know there's a new Pope and that's all fine and Dandy. However, this thread has nothing to do with Photography and is already swinging into a religious/political thread. We do no allow political or religious threads as they always, almost without fail, turn into a major flame war. People get mad, offended, then offend. People leave forums over religious and political flame wars and that is the simple reason why we have a no-tolerance policy when it comes to politics and religion based discussions.

There are plenty of forums on the Internet that allow political and religious forums. Please feel free and discuss those issues there. When you're ready to get back into Photo-Mode, we welcome you back here with open arms. We do not close these threads to make people mad or censor anything. We lock/close/delete these threads because people get hurt over them and we do not want to lose members in good standing over that type of thread.

This thread was not bad and no one was flaming, but we will interject and close these down in all cases to prevent the inevitable.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
