Actually like new in the box for $850.

Well here's the reply I got.

Hello, I still have the product
My name is Sandra Cooper and I am now in London UK
I hope you are still interested and we can make the deal happen right away.
Obviously we need a safe way to complete this deal that will allow us to make sure we receive what we are after.
I have found a way for us to complete the deal fast (3 days) and easy.
The solution is a worldwide delivery company called TNT. TNT is similar
to Fedex, DHL or UPS and they will provide assistance in hadling the
payment and delivery of the product
With this procedure I will only receive the payment for the product
after you will receive it and see that it is just like I said it is.

Like I said, I will pay for a 2 days delivery so you will receive the
product right away.
Let me know what you think.

Best Regards,
Sandra

Has this scam been seen before? I mean this particular scam with a high end Camera

OF course the add has been pulled but they insist that's a mistake and the camera is still up for sale.

Very common scam. It's amazing that so many people have to leave the country immediately after posting cameras for sale!

I googled from "Obviously" to "it is." and this is what I got:

Stay away, it's a fake! (external link)

The $850 asking price didn't do it for you?

I'm sure even in this day and age people have giving away more for less.

;)

Yeah, and that eternal human hope of getting something for "nothing" is why these scams persist.:)

Definitely a scam. Someone once tried to sell me a Dell Laptop and told me the same thing. "I used to live in Chicago but have now moved to London. You can blah blah blah. TNT will inspect and hold package. Send Western Union...blah blah."

SCAM.

I contacted TNT, the real shipping company, about the matter and they put a disclaimer on their site stating that they do not offer such services.

I need to stay out of the buy/sell forum. It's burning a hole in the wallet...

This very same person has run that identical ad in the Charlotte, NC area Craigs List before. I asked her why she just doesn't sell it in London! Still waiting for an answer on that one......

The reason is that she got scammed in London,... and said never again! :D
