On the second of these the processing seems to have left the right looking more saturated than the left. Does it look add? I didn't do anything special to cause this but suspect it was a combination of the processing 'amplifying' the effect of the polarising filter I was using and the perspective of the photo (the left side being more distant).

CPLs can have strange effects. I've stopped using it unless it is REALLY needed.
