Oh I so now wished I was still living in the Netherlands, close to where I lived was this protected nature park and it had a shore next to a pond that was full of sundew!!!
They are so gorgeous cute plants and they eat my enemy so what's there not to love.
Whenever I go back for a visit I will go and take pictures there for sure, for now, you have to do with some beauty out of Texas.......
Enjoy!

Really? I've only seen sundew on TV before now, though a friend had a Venus Flytrap when I was a LOT younger.

I'm just hoping my little "Audrey 2" gets big enough, quick enough, to gobble up the mosquitoes we always get here from July onwards.

Audrey 2 ?! LOL that is too cute !!!
Here is a website (external link) with a wonderful picture of one, and the comment is actually in english :-)
Too bad the picture was taken with an Olympus :-/
First time I saw a sundew in the wild was when I was 13, we were on a school trip close to a moor where we would go walk and they grew next to the path, really impressed me!!!

Oh and on further research that picture was taken in the very north of the Netherlands, indeed quite an excellent website, everything is broken down by region, pretty cool, now I am happy I did that search :-)

Hi Simon... okay, it's not an artsy photo in any respect, but it IS a sundew... I am in San Francisco for a little vacation and was browsing a science museum today and there it was .. it was only about an inch high, so I guess some varieties don't grow very large. Hope all is well with you... Carla

Carla! Wow!!! I'm touched that you thought to post a bigger version of my 'ickle "Audrey 2" into the thread. :D

But only an inch high, huh?

Fingers crossed mine gets bigger than that, otherwise it'll have no chance against the mosquitoes....we have some really vicious ones with black and white stripes around their legs/bodies. Exceedingly ugly and their bite is truly a nightmare...

ROFL... yes, that was one of the smallest varieties in the exhibit.. looks like you might need a forest of them to go to battle for you, ha.
