Here are a few photos from my most recent wedding - my sixth wedding to date. There was no hired photographer and I shot these and several others as a favour to the bride's mother. Most of my images were produced in standard colours/tones but I thought these benefited from some special treatment. I'd be grateful for feedback on the photos/photography and also the colour processing on these examples.

There was no intention to specifically maintain a cohesive look between the photos above - these are just examples of processing for a few of the images from the day.

Unfortunately I had to miss a fair portion of the day, including the speeches, but there are more photos and the more naturally toned versions here - http://picasaweb.google.co.uk …key=Gv1sRgCP_1veSjy9aj0wE (external link)# - for anyone interested in looking further. Six of the photos in the album (none of those above) were taken by my girlfriend and were edited by me under her direction as she has no idea how to use Lightroom. Please appreciate that this is not a "finished" album and merely represents our photographic contribution to the day. The B&G will be putting together their own printed album based on their own selection from our photos and photos taken by others at the wedding.

I think the first image was really enhanced by the pp but the others I don't think so.

The first is pretty cool, really like the effect.

2,3,4 have for want of a better word no "POP" IMHO

Your link does not work.

Thanks for the feedback. The MOB absolutely loves the shot in the car.

The album link should now work OK. It seems Google has been mucking about with default settings for Picasaweb, which is causing a lot of aggro with third party access to photos/albums. I think I've fixed it, but if not, please let me know.

As for the muted colours, the MOB has several B&W prints on a wall at her home of her family and I thought these examples might make a nice addition. However, I tried B&W conversions but found them lacking when compared to the softly coloured examples above. Still, it's food for thought so thanks for the input.

That first image is really great. It's got a really great feel to it. The processing really added to this shot.

The 2nd IMO is a great moment. The processing works for me to. The others work but the processing doesn't have the same appeal as the others.

The last image doesn't work at all. The capture is sound. The processing ruins it for me. It's the odd one out in the sequence as far as processing is concerned.

Your timing looks great in these.
I like the fact that you have a style.

Can you tell me what you did with the first image? I really love the effect!

Here is the unedited raw image (EXIF is embedded)....

Using Lightroom I selectively increased the exposure by 1 stop at 50% density on the bride and parts of the dress and then reduced saturation by 50 points at 50% density on the bride's skin. I then applied a preset called "BoonDoggle 2" and completed the edit with some cropping and vignetting to end up with this...

I personally like all of these very much. when i have a moment i'm def. going to check out your link too because i think these are great. i agree that the last one doesn't "go" with the previous ones in terms of PP, but i still like it on its own.

Some great work there - you really have a style. :) That first shot is a portfolio keeper for sure.

Good work on showing the editing too... it's nice to see other people can see a 'normal' shot and then really make it shine with a little PP.

Wow! Imagine a world without PP.... How did they do it?
Thanks for sharing your process!

Nice work! I particularly like what you've done with your first and third shots. Well done! I'm sure the bride and groom will be happy! :)
