I shot one of these last year, but it was so far away. These are fantastic shots of one beautiful pecker! I would love to see some again this fall, down here in the woods! I think this is one of my favorite Woodpeckers. The colors are amazing!

Outstanding images Clay. My vote is also for #2. I photographed these many years ago and plan to go back to that area to try again with digital digital technology.

Wow, I had a feeling it was kind of rare to see one up close like this, but didn't realize how fortunate I was. I'm glad I had the chance to share it with all of you. If I get the chance I will try to get some more shots and post them. Thanks again for your kind comments. :D
