Hmm...

My name is rather common, so I'll search for my full name, google shows me 1-10 of about 6,250,000 entries.

My results for page 1:
- Nude pictures of the actor (Pictured in avatar)
- I'm a musician
- A doctor in Oregon
- A professional photographer in Seattle Washington! (I can't seem to find any of his pictures so I can't see how much better than me he is.)
- Department of Cognitive Sciences - Laboratory for Cognitive Brain Research (I have no idea what that is, but it sounds way cool!)
- A banker (Sr. VP in fact! Go me!)
- Doctoral Student Biochemistry

Thanks for looking!
-Kevin

I check my moniker out about once a quarter just to see if someone else is coopting it or using it inappropriately and find I take up at least the first 6 pages of a google search,
Mostly my Amazon.com reviews, POTN comments, but scattered amoung those are my web pages and a couple of other sites I have copyrighted material on.
However, first on the search is my White-Wolf "World of Darkness" source book inventory, which is one of the most complete listings on the net of those, plus I inlcude ISBN numbers which most people don't. I being the sneaky person I am have a hidden link for spiders my other sideline web sites on that page, so I am always happy that one comes up first.

For my real name though first and third on the list is a photographer, unfortunately it is neither myself nor my father. He is fairly good though. Although he also does people; primarily, he does kids in action. I tend to do women with few clothes. The rest of the links tend to be for a Bishop, a westler and a real estate agent on the first page.

Geez, I googled my handle, and the first several were posts from here. I also saw a reference to a thread here from another forum altogether (not photography). And then, I saw someone who is using the same handle on Amazon and other tool forums - and dat ain't me!

Perhaps I need a copyright or a trademark

Have Fun,

Thats something I should have done, long after I started useing Moppie Bertram made a boat called the Moppie.
I could have done rather well out of that

And a search for Moppie Canon gets this as the first link: http://www.google.com …8&oe=utf-8&q=Moppie+Canon (external link)
A photo I posted here, of my Father

Well I tried it and I am number one. I had done this quite some time ago and I was on the second page. Apparently I am also a college tennis star and am quite accomplished at track and field.

Congratulations.

I tried the same thing using my real name, and got zero hits. Then, I tried 'Belmondo.' That didn't even get me to the first page of Google results because of the actor, Jean-Paul Belmondo. Finally, I searched Belmondo and Canon, and voila!-----numero uno!

I fear this exercise has only had limited results in boosting my ego.

Perhaps you should have tried googling "Lost Tripods", I'm sure you'd be right up there:rolleyes:

I tried googling my name, but I kept getting pages and pages about some obscure author.

I've Googled my name now and then. Nowadays my website ends up on top. :) If I just Google my first name I find out I'm a tiny village in Burkina Faso. LOL My name also shows up in relation to some articles I've written, but the links don't go to the articles strangely enough. I'm also quoted in my Uni teacher's various pop cultur essays. Ah, I knew I had done good when I let my boyfriend force me to see "The Phantom Menace". :D
