After looking at reviews, this seems to be a pretty amazing camera! I was originally considering going to a 40D but LOVE the quality and feel of the 1 series. To those who have owned this camera, Is this a wise choice?

Are there even any new or refurbished Mk. IIn's still floating around out there?

Let me know what you think.

Not sure what to do with this space yet... but in the meantime, here's my Little Bitty Gear List:lol:

Oh, and here is my flickr (external link) if anyone is interested! And my very INACTIVE Model Mayhem (external link)

Went from the 40D to the N,,no comparison. Only thing I did not like was the HIgh ISO on the N compared to the 40D. You wont be disappointed otherwise.

Fantastic camera, but it depends upon what you are shooting.....I liked the ISO performance of the 40D over the 1D Mark IIN from 800 to 1600. But when it comes to tracking, no comparison from 1D series to a xxD series. I actually don't care about the MP, 8 is fine with me. For my shooting, the 1D Mark IIN fits just fine. It takes some getting used to the two finger controls.....

I have been shooting a MkIII for about a year and a half, having come from a MkIIn. The images I got with the MkIIn were every bit as good as I get from the MkIII.

The MkIIn is a fantastic camera and no xxD series body will measure up to it. I also have a 50D and had all the others... 20D, 30D and 40D. Don't hesitate if you can find a good MkIIn. Jump on it.

I don't need a second childhood. I'm not finished yet with the first one.
