photoshop cs2 trouble

i just got this and for some reason, whenever i try to open a CR2 file (RAW), photoshop says it cannot read it.

i think there is some kind of hole in the download, does anyone have any suggestions? had this problem? or know of any links to refer me to?

What camera are you using and what version of Adobe Camera Raw do you have installed? I think you need at least 3.3 for the 5D.

Yes, with the appropriate updates, CS2 should be able to read 5D files.

Gee, I don't know ... it's always just happened automatically. What happens if you choose "Updates" from the Help menu?

When the ACR window opens it's on the top title bar.

Get the latest version for CS2 (v3.7). The 5D is fully supported. Read the instruction on the page (below the download link) and follow them exactly to install the plugin.
