Has anyone ever brought from one of these and had it shipped to the UK.

I'm thinking of getting a 100-400 shipped from the US because its soo much cheaper

The problem you will face is warranty (Some hardware is earmarked for US warranty only based on serial number), insurance on damage in transit and being collared for customs & excise duty + VAT. It's a gamble I would not take with such high priced peices of kit myself.

Lenses are (supposedly) covered by international warranty.

If you are buying from the states add 20% to the item+shipping price as you'll have to pay VAT and import duty.

Send Ian Kerr (Kerso on here) a PM as he is cheaper than UK, no VAT or import duty to pay and all his stuff is covered by Canon UK warranty which I can confirm as I have had warranty work done on a camera and a lens from Ian

These guys: http://www.onestop-digital.com/catalog/ (external link) are excellent. I've used them a few time - and they'll refund duty/VAT if you get charged.
