Great pics by everybody. Sue.t's made me want to go camping, elfie's had me longing for a chocolate fountain, and Big Hands' inspired me to fire up my backyard grill! 8-) Hnikesch, that was an incredible photo - I'd like to hear the background behind it. I also liked the one you had up briefly of the big bird on the dumpster outside the back door of a restaurant, waiting for a handout.

In case anybody wondered, that's not image noise in the background of my pic. I went out and bought a couple yards of black fabric to use as a background for the pic, only to discover that while it looked nice and smooth and matte in the store, it didn't show up quite the same under the lights in a photo! The image was shot in manual mode at ISO 100, 1/10 sec @ f3.5. As I'm sure everybody else discovered, taking the photos was fun, but the best part was eating the subject matter afterward!

Thanks this was a difficult subject for me and I couldn't get an image i liked, the nest is in the backyard there are 2 little guys now, The large bird was a Sand Crane in Boca Grande Fl. In this Feb. He later got the handout but I missed that shot, The cook in the restaurant had a name for him and his buddy, He did a daily battle with a Great Egret for the spot on the dumpster. I will attach the image of the crane when I get home.
