Hi everyone,

When I load the EOS utility to transfer pictures from my camera, the "Image Capture Extension" process uses some serious RAM which it does not give back.
The only way to get back the RAM is to manually quit the process.
The problem this is causing, is that the EOS Utility will stop responding, most notably when using remote shooting.

I have searched Google and found a number of people reporting this problem, which didn't exist in earlier versions of Leopard.
I'm very new to Canon cameras and I'd like to know how others transfer pictures (the screen is blank on the camera until EOS Utility is launched).
Also has anyone found a way around this RAM problem or know more info about it? Are Canon aware of the problem etc.

Thanks.

I don't use the EOS Utility - that's probably why I didn't hear about this. Have you tried the newest drivers at Canon? They look like they were released in April just 15 days ago (at least for the 40D). What I've been reading is that there isn't much Apple love at the moment for this issue that happens with OS 10.5.6 but not with 10.5.5 or lower.
