Busted XT - Value?

I have a Rebel XT that got a couple of the CF pins bent recently that unfortunately broke when an attempt to straighten them was made. Now the camera gives a CF card error and no way to insert a CF card. I removed the batteries and still no luck. I was living on borrowed time with the camera as the shutter had a second curtain issue at higher SS (1/1000 or higher) so I'm bummed but not really surprised that it finally went.

The question I have for you all is - does this thing have any value? I do have a spare battery but no other attachments (i.e. grip) that could part out as I have a 40D that I predominately use.

I suppose it could be used as a computer tethered camera.

i see some on ebay going for just parts. you can search the "completed auctions" to get a good idea on price

I may go the parts route. I appreciate the replies.

a year ago, I sold an XT with ERR99 issues for just over $100 on ebay.

(I was very upfront about the issues, and was as specific as possible - wasnt scamming anyone)

I'd get it checked out by Canon and if reasonable, get it fixed..I believe stripping such a good camera for parts is a very undignified end..
