I rarely get a chance to see Wood Ducks so I was excited when I came across a few this weekend.

Thanls Stephanie and dipps!

dipps,it was the 70-200 2.8, but I could have used something longer that day to get a chance at some more images.

argh, just when my jonesin' for the 70-200mm f/2.8 had finally subsided...... lol

i've got a canon 70-300mm, but haven't yet had a real good duck opportunity to test it out.

diggs, that's a very nice lens you have there . I believe if you had used that lens for the same shot under the same light conditions there would have been little or no difference between the images.

Thak you Playm and mrmacca. This is actually the pose I was hoping to capture but I failed to nail it. I guess I need more practice.

Great image. The Wood Duck is one of the most colorful in my book. I also like the texture and color on the water.

Nice work, Bruce!

I was sittin' in my duck blind this morning when one came swimming by. He wasn't freaked out at all by the noise of the shutter clicking, and I got several shots of him. At one point he was so close I couldn't fit all of him in the frame. Now if only the lighting had been better . . .
