Does anyone have a 70-200 that has a little play in it? Mine feels like it has a 1mm lopsided to it, and causes a slight play.

Anyone else?

I just got mine so it's probably not a fair comparison per se, but it's tight as can be.

My 70-200 is tight. A small bit of play in radial direction does not affect anything at all.

In my case, the collar in front of the focus ring was loose. It didn't affect the outer element. However, I was afraid that it would continue to loosen and fall off at some inopportune moment, probably over a body of water if Murphy's Law holds true. I pried up the edge of the rubber on the focus ring to see if the screws holding the collar were under it. They were accessible through a hole, which you can rotate to position over the three screws. I tightened them and all was well with the world.

Mine is really tight. Used to worry me. Now I just ignore it.
