Newb to Lighting

Finally after getting my first flash a couple months ago, now I want to upgrade to strobes. I've shot with Alien Bees before, But I'm wondering if you guys have any recommendations for anything slightly cheaper?

Also looking to have a portable battery of some kind so that I don't always have to be at an outlet? is that possible??

of course there are cheaper strobes out there but not as good as the ABs or the Genesis.
yes, you can use a portable power for strobes. theres the Vegabond II (same manufacturer as the AB) and innovatrix explorer XT which is manufactured in the philippines.
