Thanks for the samples and the note that things do not seem sharp in the distance. This has been my issue with my Sigma 18-50/2.8. Now I know I don't need to drop $500 more dollars for the Canon

May 19, 2009 18:13 | #32 Got it back from Canon today and it's perfect (as far as I can tell so far). Per service details: A part in the auto focus system was out of position and did not operate properly. Also replaced the IS assembly. Adjusted center/tilt/focus and cleaned like new. VERY happy with the turnaround time and service!
