My dad is sending me his old Hanimex TZ1 flash to try out with my XSi. I am very new to flash photography and haven't been able to find much inof on this model. I have been to the site with the various flashes and their respective voltages but the TZ1 isn't listed. I should be able to test it myself once it ships (with a multi-meter, there is no way I am putting this on camera until I am absolutely sure it's safe) but I thought I would ask if anyone had any experience with this model and already knew the answer.

More importantly I would like to experiment with this flash off camera. Is strobe voltage an issue when its used off camera? Would cybersyncs or skyports work on this flash as is? at all? or is there something else I would have to get to make it compatible with a radio trigger.

Thanks.
