these are from my recent day trip to joshua tree. i wish the con-trail wasn't there in the second shot.

the flower picture has special meaning to me. i was attacked by a giant cactus while taking that shot. it came out of nowhere and i couldn't outrun it. i ended up having to pull out about 3 dozen cactus needles from my leg. hope it's worth it. :p

10D with 17-35/f2.8L for the trees, with 70-200/f4L for the flower.

Nice shots. Too bad about the cactus, but we all have our battle scars.

What you mean a Josuha tree isn't a U2 album? Very nice shots! Thanks for showing me the first pictures of these strange trees I have ever seen that was not on the cover of a U2 album.

Very nice. I would say Joshua Trees are my favorite kind of trees, except they aren't actually trees... :)

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Ouch....I don't think the trail messed up the picture any personally...But I know what you mean...Probably would have rather had it all natural...Still nice though...I like that little "chia" too...Pardon me if this is a moronic question but any chance that THAT "chia" has anything to do with the pet?

Alex:

Those are wonderful. Excellent work.

You shame me, though. I live much closer to Joshua Tree than you do, and I haven't made it over there yet.

Maybe soon. :o :o :o :o

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!
