Reflection? Flare? Aliens?

Nothing particularly outstanding about this photograph from a recent wedding but I thought I would show the bizarre reflection/flare that we picked up from the candles at this ceremony. Nearly every shot from this angle had the same green dots across the back of the groomsmen. I can only assume that it was something with our lens and the candles.

Do you have a UV filter on the lens?

Yep. Do you think that would have caused it? It was our 70-200 2.8IS with the hood and a UV filter.

Nah, it's aliens for sure.

It's a lens not a lense!

My second guess was ghosts, but it's probably just the filter. :)

Must be aliens. I just noticed them on the singer's skirt as well!
They're everywhere.

I've had the exact same thing happen on my 17-40, also with a filter. Not sure what is causing it...
