Rainy sunset

I wasn't happy when it started raining but that all changed when the sun came out near the horizon and lit the raindrops (giving the misty effect and some light to work with).

I took it with the 5D and the 70-200 at f4.5, 1/50, 73 mm, ISO 100, on tripod. No PP at all as I just moved and the only computer I have access to at this moment is a tiny netbook with an uncalibrated screen.

Mmhh.... This didn't generate much excitement - to say the least

Any suggestions on how I could have improved the composition?

It does have an ethereal quality to it, but I find the tree in the foreground a little soft. Might just be me or this lousy monitor at work, but that hurts the image in my opinion. I might also add a little saturation to it. Thanks for sharing

Thank you for the comment. You're right... I should have used a smaller aperture. And I shouldn't have focused on the background trees. Two bad decisions taken in the spur of the moment. Live and learn!
