Yes. they could be used with Alienbees or any strobe light.. It's just like a softbox but in umbrella form. You shouldn't need any other thing.

Does anybody know if these umbrellas can be used with an Alien Bees B-800 and if so - do I need anything as far as adapters, etc?

Thank you so much. Anybody have any sample shots using an AB?

I'm getting tired of waiting for the PLM so I ordered these to give them a try. I know they wont be as good or whatever, but I just need these type of brollys for now. I hope these don't disappoint. Otherwise, stay tuned in the FS section. Lol.

On his website, Steve lists the products as:

"2...40" Umbrella Softbox Reflective"

So is it that each set comes with TWO of these softbox umbrellas?

has anyone tried these things with the yn460ii? i'm curious to see how it would perform - specifically the spread throughout the umbrella since it's forward-firing, not like the 120j barebulb that can go round..

Do a search for David Tetrode messages, or PM him, he has that light and the Steve Kaiser softbox umbrella too.. so he may give you more insight about the umbrella shaft.

Just an update. I received mine today and all I can say is the build quality is nothing to scoff at. While my original intent was to own PLMs, I grew tired of waiting and opted for these instead at least temporarily. Now I don't know if I will ever sell these. I will still get PLMs but these are very handy to have.

I'll try them later and do some test shots with my B800s. We'll see how the lighting quality is like.

I forgot the settings I used and I'm not sure the EXIF is still in tact. These are pretty nice! At about 3-4 feet, full power (B800), I can get f/22 and maybe an extra stop more.

i see they redesigned the umbrella softbox to make it easier to fit your strobe head in. pretty nifty.

I couldn´t find the review I did here of the reflective umbrella softboxes (Steve Kaeser), but http://www.flickr.com …iscuss/72157618564204937/ (external link) you can find it on flickr, simply said these umbrellas are really great. In OEC camera (ebay) you can find a 57inches version of the reflective umbrella softbox, overall I like them a whole lot, the only con is these don´t sport the removable shaft like the soflighter II has, but that´s a minor nitpick compared to the great modifier you are buying.
