i've got a stupid question...what's the difference between the two SK models? why would you choose one over the other? i see there's the UMBRELLA SHOOT THROUGH SOFTBOXES and UMBRELLA SOFTBOX REFLECTIVE...if i'm using flashes for my lighting, does that matter?

Its mostly about coverage and spill control. In the umbrella box it operates much like a softbox or even a reflective umbrella with an extra layer of diffusion. The shape limits the spread of light compared to the shoot through. THe shoot through version will spread wider because the the only spill control is the black panel on the back.

I expected to use the umbrella soft box the most but loved them so much that I went back and ordered the shoot through (brolly) umbrella version as well and have ended using them more. I just really love the light variations I can get with these.

Does anybody know if it's possible to modify the shafts to fit Elinchrom lights?

Since the entrance hole in the Kaeser units are off center to work with most units, I use the lower umbrella bracket on my BX400's and everything lines up just right, I do not know how you could modify the shafts to go through the Elinchrom heads nor think it's necessary to improve the light.
This is my setup using an Elinchrom head.

Hmm that could be a problem, seeing as D-Lites only have the one hole in them. Anybody have calipers to measure the exact width?
