I don't think he's asking how to create a ©...

I think he's asking if you include one at all in a watermark.

I do when I generate images from Lightroom 'cause it's based on the info I've entered into the Metadata template I use when importing. Most of that ends up on PBase.

For stuff I put on Zenfolio, I use a .png graphic stored at Zen that does not have a © in the text...

Oops, for some reason I mentally added a "how" to the subject line....

I think my morning coffee is wearing off :(

Haha.....Funny...

I guess I have seen people put their initials and the date as part of a watermark, and then some people include the © in front of it. What is the purpose of the ©? Like does value does it add?

© stands for "copywrite", so © 2009 means that the content/picture/whatever is copywrited for the year 2009.

Or © 2009 Evan Gordon Photography....

What about when it turns 2010? Then it's void?

No value to it other than a friendly reminder.

Generally it's the date that the content was created, I don't think it has any legal meaning.

Newbie here. Sorry, but how do you create a new post? I'd like to ask a few questions about emailing photos from my new 50D. Thanks for any help.

While I'm at it, egordon, I'd like to get into some soccer photography. How's the 100-400 zoom working for you? Good lens?

Back out of this post, and press the "New Topic" button right above the subforum header.

I usually don't shoot sports (actually, I've shots sports ONCE!) but the 100-400L seemed to do ok. I usually shoot deer with it, but here's how it does on a soccer (and football) game -

EG, thanks for the quick comeback. And for the photos. They look fine, and the lens has a $100 rebate through June, I believe. Lastly, you are talking to the lowest tech redneck in South Carolina. I go now to ask some questions about emailing from my new 50D. :o) Grazie, tb.

Sorry, again, EG. I click on "new posts", and all I see are the latest posts...no window in which to type a post. Is that the one you meant?

Go to https://photography-on-the.net …ay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=13

A little ways down from the top (on the left), there's a button that says "New Topic"

Press that button :)
