Im finally taking the plunge and getting myself some really decent gear for what I want to do. So, very excited! I was hoping to save some money so I could get more gear. I originally considered the 5d classic but I wanted it new in box and that has been hard to find.
I am buying in Canada and was wondering if you knew anywhere I could get these items cheaper.
(I know some are already at a pretty fair price, but you never know).

5dmkII Body - $3000.00
Canon LpE6 Battery - $100.00
Sherpa Pro 6 CF Monopod - $130.00
Canon 35mm 1.4 - $1500.00
Kata 3N1 30 - $140.00
Sandisk 16G ExIII CF card - $170.00

What do you think? Can I save money anywhere?

If you haven't checked it out already, www.photoprice.ca (external link) is a pretty good tool for Canadian buyers. It doesn't have every item from every vendor/shop, but it'll get you started in the right direction. My favourite feature is that it automatically incorporates taxes, shipping fees, exchange rates, etc into the prices displayed.

Oh. I asked because I occasionally travel from Detroit to Buffalo, and thought I might be able to help you out. Ottawa is a bit far from 81/137.

Best Buy has the 16GIG Sandisk Extreme III for $99 from time to time. I don't think it's that low currently, but every few weeks or so, it dips to that price, and generally sells quickly...

Some people seem to think so.
Here's some good reading material on this subject:
